One of the best parts about living in Social Apartment is the chance to be part of a larger community that expands even further than your own property. There’s always plenty of chances to meet residents of other Social Apartments and keep expanding your social circles in ways you never could have before. This September we were happy to provide one such opportunity for over 100 current and former residents at our Big Barbecue (BBBQ) event! With all of our participants split into 10 different teams, you might be worried that things would get a little bit awkward with people who have never met before, but nothing could be further from the truth. In true Social Apartment fashion, even people meeting for the first time were able to get along like long-time friends!

With our special theme for the day set as “B” (since there are so many Bs in a BBBQ), we set up plenty of great features and activities for everyone. The first of the many Bs of the day was Brazil, represented by the Brazilian Churrasco we served to all of our participants!

With the help of our friend Enrique from the churrascaria Barbacoa in Roppongi, we got to witness firsthand the prep and cooking of some truly awesome barbecue! We’re proud say that Chef Enrique is a tenant of Tentment Takanawa, and it’s thanks to him and all the other awesome professionals living in Social Apartment that we are able to have such exciting events! With 20 kilograms of meat prepared, there was more than enough for everybody.

Our second B for the day was for Buns, provided by our friends at “Neighbors Brunch” in Neighbors Tachikawa. Taking some of the delicious bread from our own bakery and adding churrasco to it was a super delicious combination!

The 3rd B was for the “Big Burgers” made by all of our teams.
With some extra-large buns, teams had to get together and make a delicious burger with B themed ingredients. There were plenty of delicious looking burgers, as well as some more… interesting creations.

For residents from different Social Apartment locations, this was a great chance to meet and greet with one another. With our big SA family under the big open sky and with a belly full of delicious barbecue, there were smiles all around.

And as always, when it came time to clean up, our residents were ready to help. We knew we could count on them to help us get everything cleaned and put away in time for the end of our reservation.
From there, several people went to both Social Apartment Shinkemigawa and Neighbors Futakotamagawa for after parties. Everyone seems to have had a blast!

Even though the forecast had a chance of rain, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a barbecue, plenty of sunshine and great vibes to be found. And then in the distance, as the cherry on top of a great day, we saw a huge rainbow. It was an amazing end to an awesome time spent with all of our beloved Social Apartment residents.
